Shu Swamp Nature Preserve

Hi all! My dad and I went to a Nature Preserve called Shu Swamp Nature Preserve in Mill Neck, NY today! The reason we went here is because we were supposed to go to a Guided Audubon Walk today but the sanctuary there was guaranteed to have ticks and we didn’t want to take a chance. Anyways, as soon as we arrived at the bird sanctuary, I heard a bird that I always wanted to see. That bird was a Yellow Warbler: https://www.allaboutbirds.org/guide/Yellow_Warbler/overview. I knew that I was going to love going to this bird sanctuary! I saw this sign before we walked into the trail. The sign showed the Native Flowers of New York:

After I read the sign, my dad and I headed out to the trail. I was listening to the bird calls around me to try and see if I could identify them. I met a birder on the way. They said that if I went further down, there was a Yellow-throated warbler: https://www.allaboutbirds.org/guide/Yellow-throated_Warbler/overview, but I think they could of mistaken it for another bird. As my dad and I walked, we saw and heard a lot of birds which were: Red-bellied Woodpeckers: https://www.allaboutbirds.org/guide/Red-bellied_Woodpecker, Downy Woodpeckers: https://www.allaboutbirds.org/guide/Downy_Woodpecker, Northern Flicker: https://www.allaboutbirds.org/guide/Northern_Flicker/, Great Crested Flycatcher: https://www.allaboutbirds.org/guide/Great_Crested_Flycatcher, Blue Jays: https://www.allaboutbirds.org/guide/blue_jay, House Wrens: https://www.allaboutbirds.org/guide/house_wren, Gray Catbirds: https://www.allaboutbirds.org/guide/Gray_Catbird/, Veery: https://www.allaboutbirds.org/guide/veery, American Robins: https://www.allaboutbirds.org/guide/American_Robin, Song Sparrow: https://www.allaboutbirds.org/guide/Song_Sparrow, Red-winged Blackbirds: https://www.allaboutbirds.org/guide/Red-winged_Blackbird/, Common Grackles: https://www.allaboutbirds.org/guide/Common_Grackle, Common Yellowthroat: https://www.allaboutbirds.org/guide/Common_Yellowthroat, Yellow Warbler: https://www.allaboutbirds.org/guide/Yellow_Warbler, and Northern Cardinals: https://www.allaboutbirds.org/guide/Northern_Cardinal. During this walk, not only did we see birds but also chipmunks and deer:
